Traveling to Bruges

By train:

Bruges' main railway station provides at least hourly trains to all other major cities in Belgium, and is also a stop for the Thalys train Paris-Brussels-Ostend.
There are two trains per hour from Brussels (including weekends and holidays). The journey from Brussels' Central Station takes one hour.
Timetables can be found at this address.

By plane:

Brussels National Airport, one hour away by train or car, offers the best connectivity.
From the airport to Bruges, by train, one change is required in Brussels. In the website of the belgian railways, enter Bruxelles-Nat-Aeroport and Bruges as departure/destination.

Charleroi Airport, also known as Brussels South Airport, is more distant and much less connected but is the Belgian base for Ryanair and other low-cost companies.
There is a direct bus to Bruges with Autocars l'Elan.
